DESCRIPTION:This presentation provides an overview of the updated CMS quality measure for the percentage of long-stay residents in nursing homes who receive antipsychotic medications. Effective with the Minimum Data Set (MDS) 3.0 Quality Measures User's Manual Version 18.0 (starting January 1\, 2026\, for calculations and public reporting)\, the measure has been re-specified to incorporate additional data sources for greater accuracy and comprehensiveness. The session will explore the rationale for these changes\, the revised calculation methodology\, impacts on quality reporting and star ratings\, and practical strategies for nursing home providers to adapt and improve performance.This program is NAB approved for 1.5 Continuing Education Hours \nObjectives: Participants will be able to:   Describe the key updates to the long-stay antipsychotic medication quality measure in MDS 3.0 QM User's Manual v18.0.
