CANCELLED - Structuring Restorative & Restorative Nursing Program (2-day program) - February 27 and February 28, 2023. 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Description

This 2-day program is directed toward Administrators, Directors of Nursing, Restorative Nurses and Restorative Nurse Aides (RNAs). 

Day 1 of the program, participants will understand why restorative nursing is necessary and how restorative services can make a define and distinct impact on almost every area of your facility's quality, care and culture. Participants will learn how to design a restorative nursing program that keeps the facility in compliance with federal law and state surveys and promotes keeping residents at their highest functional level physically, mentally and psychosocially. The program will also focus on how restorative nursing can impact the MDS, the Medicare RUG rate, the Medicaid case mix index. Specific training will be provided on integrating the multidisciplinary team with restorative services for carryover of services into everyday life and activities.

Day 2 of the program is directed toward the Restorative Nursing Assistants (RNAs) and Restorative Nurses and will cover regulations, job description, medical terminology, documentation set-up and requirements. The restorative program, with examples and demonstrations, will be explored in depth. Participants will understand why restorative is necessary and how restorative services can make a definite and distinct impact on almost every area of a facility's quality care and culture. Participants will learn how to deliver a restorative nursing program that keeps the facility in compliance with federal law and state surveys and promotes keeping residents at their highest functional level physically, mentally and psychosocially. Specific training will be provided on integrating the multidisciplinary team with restorative services for carryover of services into everyday life and activities. Each RNA will receive a take-home, open book skills test with skills demonstration sign-off.
