The Restorative Aide (RNA) program is directed toward Restorative Nursing Assistants (RNAs) and Restorative Nurses and will cover regulations, job description, medical terminology, documentation set-up and requirements. The restorative program, with examples and demonstrations, will be explored in depth. Participants will understand why restorative is necessary and how restorative services can make a definite and distinct impact on almost every area of a facility's quality care and culture. Participants will learn how to deliver a restorative nursing program that keeps the facility in compliance with federal law and state surveys and promotes keeping residents at their highest functional level physically, mentally and psychosocially. Specific training will be provided on integrating the multidisciplinary team with restorative services for carryover of services into everyday life and activities. Each participant will also have a take-home, open book skills test with skills demonstration sign-off. Facilities are required to have physical, occupational, and speech therapist available for skills demonstration sign-off.
