Care Providers Oklahoma is offering a new COMPREHENSIVE Activity Directors 4-day training program for eligibility to work in nursing and specialized facilities as an Activity/Life Enrichment Coordinator. This program will offer 27-total hours of classroom participation.
This program taken along with the Social Services 32-hour training program will offer eligibility of employment as an Activity Director and Social Services Director. If you are working as dual Activities Director and Social Services Director you must take both training programs. Registration required for both training programs.
STUDENTS ARE ASKED TO BRING THEIR JOB DESCRIPTION WITH THEM ON THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS.
STUDENTS ARE ALSO ASKED TO BRING AN ACTIVITY TO DEMONSTRATE TO THE CLASS ON DAY 4.
Topics of discussion: Role of the Activity Director; Guidance and Regulations; Resident Rights & Facility Responsibilities; Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation; Aging Issues; Principles of Documentation; Life Enrichment Programming; Burnout/Compassion Fatigue; Effective Communication; Developing a Plan for Involving Volunteers; Infection Control; Improving Dementia Care the Right Way; Building a Budget; Resident and Family Council; Behavioral Health/Trauma Informed Care; and Activity Programming for all Residents.
